What is an OPG?

An Orthopantomogram (OPG) is an advanced panoramic scanning dental X-ray. It creates a single image of the entire mouth, including the upper and lower jaws, all the teeth, and the temporomandibular joints (TMJ). It is an excellent baseline tool for dentists to evaluate your overall oral health.

The Process

During an OPG, you will be asked to rest your chin on a small ledge and gently bite down on a sterile mouthpiece to keep your head steady. The machine will then smoothly rotate around your head for about 10-20 seconds. It is completely non-invasive and painless.
